Antisynthetase syndrome: A case report of long-term nonprogressive Interstitial Lung Disease

Antisynthetase syndrome (ASS) is a rare autoimmune inflammatory disease. Signs and symptoms include interstitial lung disease, myositis, Raynaud’s phenomenon, joint pain, "mechanic’s hands," and fever. Due to breathing difficulties, the disease is often misdiagnosed as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and delays patients from receiving timely immunosuppressive treatment.
SIMEDHealth Rheumatologist, Miguel Rodriguez, MD, and co-authors explore a case of long-term nonprogressive interstitial lung disease without proper treatment.
